Sunye, a previous member of the popular Korean girl group (JYP Entertainment) revealed that she is planning to embark upon a 5 year long mission trip to Haiti with her husband. Now a wife, and a mother she explained how she came to making this important decision.
Several years ago, the Korean girl group Wonder Girls began to hold performances and concerts in the United States along with other popular American bands and artists. During her time in America, Sunye had the opportunity to think back on her life. One day she had the opportunity to visit Haiti as a missionary through her church. She explained that the one week in Haiti completely changed her life.
She also talked about the parable of the prodigal son, which she shared that greatly influenced her decision to leave her comfort zone to enter the mission field. Sunye shared how she felt she was like the younger son who left his father to live out his own life. She expressed that she felt even ashamed of herself while she pursued only her own success in the entertainment industry, and that was why she chose to live this new life of spreading the Gospel.
On closing, Sunye expressed great gratitude for all the employees of JYP Entertainment, her fellow Wonder Girls members, the fans and her family who all played a role in helping her reach this important turning point in her life. Sunye and her husband had even begun an NGO to promote missionary activities abroad. The couple will be leaving for the mission field in July.
