The LG G3 may be followed soon with a succeeding device that will reportedly come with a 16-megapixel wide angle camera. This upcoming LG G4 is expected to be revealed at the Mobile World Congress. Similar to the G Flex 2 that was introduced at the CES, it will be incorporated with a Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm.
Tech site Techmaniacs obtained a couple of details on the LG G4's specs, including a 16-megapixel camera offering a 5312 x 2988 pixel resolution. With a significant upgrade from the LG G3 camera's 13 megapixels, this forthcoming device may also feature laser autofocus.
If LG is to prove that a successor to the G3 will be released earlier this year, the company may take the lead in introducing flagship devices compared to Samsung and HTC.
The LG G3, the company's latest flagship device, has already attained considerable popularity, particularly among consumers in Korea. Despite being deemed as only second best to Samsung, the G3 has already outperformed the Galaxy S5 by three times in terms of sales within the initial release period.
In contrast to Samsung's traditionalist design for the Galaxy S5, the LG G3 brought in a fresher, bolder concept with its QHD display that offers a high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It also features laser-supported autofocus for its camera. Thanks to careful and relevant design changes intended to fix the issues of the past flagship device, the LG G3 has already become one of the most popular and well-received flagship devices in 2014.
Additionally, the LG G3 comes with a rounded edge along with a slim bezel; it also features buttons at the back similar that of the G2. Interestingly, LG pulled off a metallic finish for its rear cover, an impressive change from the typical glossy plastic used in previous devices.
With a premium finish, reviews for the LG G3 have emphasized a more "luxurious feel" when holding the back cover of the device, just as touching Apple's iPhone 5S or HTC's One M8 would feel.
One of the more common requests from users is to have LG G3's succeeding device to have healing capabilities as the G Flex and G Flex 2 to avoid minor scrapes and scratches.
Nonetheless, various features are already being enjoyed by G3 users such as the Smart Notice box, LG Health built-in fitness tracker, QuickMemo and Slide Aside that can conjure three apps using only a three-finger gesture.
