Following the success of Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 in 2014 due to its ability to provide a hybrid tablet experience for users, fans are now looking forward to the forthcoming Surface Pro 4 and how it will fare in terms of features and design.
Various reports have gone viral online, suggesting that the Surface Pro 4 will boast major upgrades and new features. The new device will allegedly be packed with a larger amount of memory to boost its overall performance. If true, the new device will have 16GB RAM, higher than the Surface Pro 3's 8GB RAM.
The upcoming device is also expected to come in two sizes - one with a 14-inch screen and the other one with an 8-inch screen that may be termed as the Surface Pro Mini to rival devices from Apple.
As the Surface Pro 4 is being equipped with upgraded internal specs that will appeal to video game players, Microsoft will push its game further by letting it run the latest Windows 10.
Additionally, the Surface Pro 4 will also be LTE-capable. The only downside is that a higher price tag can be expected as opposed to the more affordable pricing that the public is looking forward to. On the other hand, unverified reports have also stated that the Surface Pro 4's price range may be reduced as compared to high initial pricing in order to attract consumers to the Microsoft Surface Pro product line.
The Surface Pro 4 will likely make its debut in the middle of 2015, possibly before Apple launches its upcoming iPad model.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is currently offering a short-term deal that cuts off $100 from current Surface Pro 3 prices. Discounted models include the 128GB Intel Core i5, 256GB Core i5, 256GB Core i7, and 512GB Core i7. The discount will only be made available until Feb. 7, Saturday.
