Electronic Arts (EA) CFO Blake Jorgensen spoke during the 2015 Technology, Internet & Media Conference held on Monday in San Francisco and hinted about the possibility of releasing "Titanfall 2," Worlds Factory reported.

If work on the sequel pushes through, the EA executive said it could be released for other consoles since it wouldn't be an exclusive game for Microsoft's Xbox platform.

"Titanfall" hit the market on March 11 of last year. Due to its impressive game play and technical features, a lot of gamers were disappointed since it was only made available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Xbox One users.

But during Monday's convention, Jorgensen implied that there is a possibility that PlayStation owners might get their hands on the second installment for the first-person multiplayer shooter game.

"Last year it was on the Xbox only," the executive said during the event. "In the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another 'Titanfall' game."

"It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform," Jorgensen added. "I think that that's a huge positive for us."

Rumors about the development of "Titanfall 2" first emerged only a couple of days after the first game was released. On March 19, 2014, an anonymous source told Game Spot that EA has acquired the rights to create a sequel to "Titanfall," which was developed by California-based studio Respawn Entertainment.

Although the insider did not state of the game will arrive to other platforms, Jorgensen previously mentioned that the sequel might be made available to gaming consoles of Nintendo and Sony. When asked to speak about the rumors at that time, a spokesperson from EA did not give a definitive answer regarding the status of "Titanfall 2".

"We do not comment on rumor or speculation," the company representative told Game Spot. "Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying 'Titanfall.'"
