The American Horror Story Season 5 will reportedly center on the theme of human experimentation, according to News Everyday.
The fifth season of the hit TV series is scheduled to be unveiled this October. In a report from the International Business Times, the events that transpired in the show's previous season appeared to have provided its fans and followers more than enough hints with respect to the direction it aims to take for Season 5.
If the speculations surrounding the show are accurate, then the fifth season might be based on a 1953 United States Army project that included the testing of chemical weapons on human beings. This was then called the Operation Top Hat.
The report pointed out various clues left behind by seemingly irrelevant details from the fourth season such as the tops hats in the design of the coffee mugs. In addition, the interaction of Neil Patrick Harris with the salesman named Chester left a hint connected with the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, a discussion with FX Networks CEO John Landgraf earlier this year revealed minimal details regarding the next season. In fact, questions on the theme were met with obscure and vague responses from the executive. "I know what it is, but I can't [say]. I have to let [series boss] Ryan [Murphy] do his thing on that. But it's very different," Landgraf said.
When pressed for additional information, he still only provided vague answers. "One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast," he simply shared with the audience. "I think there's going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show]," he added.
Although fans and followers may be thrilled for the nearing premiere date of the fifth season, some are wary with respect to the fate of the show's lead star, Jessica Lange. It has been an ongoing rumor that she might not be reprising her role as Elsa Mars. Lange is reported to star in another show of Ryan Murphy, titled "American Crime Story."
