A lot of changes have been shaking up the comic-movie universe, and it has gotten fans both excited and upset. One of these changes is for the role of Piotr Rasputin, also known as the deadly Colossus in the X-Men series.
Actor Daniel Cudmore, who played Colossus in three different films, made the announcement himself on his Twitter account (@danielcudmore), Screenrant shared.
"Thanks everyone for all the support for me 2 reprise the role of #Colossus in #Deadpool but unfortunately it won't be happening for me," he tweeted.
The actor was gracious enough to wish the Deadpool movie well, even saying that it will be awesome even with a different actor playing Colossus.
"I've had a blast playing such an awesome character over the years! #Deadpool will be kick-ass with #TimMiller and @VancityReynolds #BestFans," he added.
They are also uncertain now whether or not the new actor playing Colossus will appear in director Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. Some are questioning Rasputin's and Wade Wilson's partnership too, and whether it would be more serious. Other questions also lead to his relationship with Kitty Pryde (played by Ellen Page).
Deadpool will star hunk actor Ryan Reynolds, who used to play Green Lantern. He said that he feels more confident about this new role because of the script.
"Well, script. When we shot Green Lantern, nobody auditioning for the role of Green Lantern was given the opportunity to read the script, because the script didn't exist. I'm not complaining about it - it was an opportunity of a lifetime, and if I were to go back and retrace my steps, I would probably do everything the exact same way. But script, that's what's different on this one," he told Yahoo!
Reynolds has appeared in two box office flops, namely Green Lantern and RIPD. But he managed to turned things around with the film The Voices, where he plays a man suffering from hallucinations. He also just welcomed his new child into the world with wife Blake Lively, who co-starred with him in the Green Lantern film.
