American actor Chris Pratt sure had a string of good luck in his movie choices recently, starting with the success of his movie Guardians of the Galaxy and pretty soon Jurassic World. It's no secret that Pratt is Hollywood's favourite leading man today, but just how much do we know the actor?

Cinema Blend has just rounded up 10 interesting facts about the actor. Read on to find out:

1. Pratt was Mr. Popular in High School

Pratt played a charming superhero in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it seems like his charm actually translates off screen. He was the fullback for the school's football team, and he was also a track athlete and state qualifying wrestler. Many kids from his high school remember him as humble and outgoing, and he was so popular that he was chosen to deliver their graduation speech. A former classmate even wrote in a paper: "He was just as popular with the jocks as he was with the preps, stoners and drama kids. Pratt is still very active in the school to this day."

2. He got his acting break in Hawaii

Pratt was working as a waiter in Bubba Gump's Restaurant in Hawaii when he was spotted by actress and director Rae Dawn Chong. She was so charmed by Pratt that she gave him a role on her new horror film Cursed Part Three. He moved from Hawaii to Hollywood for that movie, but it turned out to be a flop. Despite that, Pratt remained in Hollywood and managed to get another acting gig from Warner Bros.

3. Pratt was on TV series Everwood

One of the series he first starred in was Everwood, where he played the role of Bright Abbott, a boy who was both goofy and lovable but tormented by personal demons.

4. He sold coupons for a while

Before he landed a job at Bubba Gump's, Pratt earned a living by going door to door and selling coupons, and apparently he was very good at it! Two years into the job and he already got his own office, and hired other people to conduct sales.

5. Pratt is a really talented musician

He often sings in his TV shows and movies and has an amazing voice, but it seems like he's more focused on building his acting career than taking over the music scene.

6. He and his wife have a very weird hobby

Pratt and his wife Anna Faris, who he met while filming Take Me Home Tonight back in 2009 and apparently, they like to bond over... dead bugs. When they first got together, Pratt mentioned that he has a dead bug collection, and when Faris saw it, she broke down in tears because she too has her own dead bug collection. It's funny how fate works.

7. Pratt can easily gain and lose weight

Pratt gained and lost weight consistently over five years to fit into the roles he is playing, and the whole process seemed pretty effortless to the actor! Just two weeks after Guardians of the Galaxy wrapped up, he was already 20 pounds heavier.

8. His Parks and Recreation character Andy was supposed to be a one-off

Andy Dwyer is considered by some not just the best character on Parks and Recreation, but on television. It was Pratt's on-screen magic that turned the character from a one-off into a mainstay in the series, and fans adored his idiocy and optimism.

9. He trained heavily for Moneyball

For his role as Oakland A's player Scott Hatteberg in Moneyball, Pratt really trained heavily on how to bat left-handed, and even attending camps with ex professionals just to learn baseball.

10. Pratt idolizes fellow actor Philip Seymour Hoffman

While filming Moneyball, Pratt met Seymour, whom he considers one of his favourite actors. "Phil was really nice, really nice. The guy is really cool. He was interested, he met my family, remembered things about me -the kind of stuff that doesn't normally happen with huge actors. He was really great, it was kind of a dream come true," gushed Pratt.
