Gal Gadot is reportedly set to have an extremely busy and hectic schedule this 2015. In a report from Deadline, it was revealed that the model turned actress will commence filming the first standalone movie of Wonder Woman by the end of this year.
The film is set for release to the big screens on June 23, 2017.
However, the upcoming solo film of the superhero lady will not be the first time the character makes an appearance on the big screen. According to earlier reports, Gadot's Wonder Woman will make her debut in the upcoming film, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. This will be released in March 2016, and is directed by Zack Snyder.
In a picture posted in the social networking site Twitter, Snyder shared the first glimpse of the public on the planned reinvention of the iconic character. Gadot is shown wearing what could only be assumed as her designated costume for the upcoming film, which showcased an ensemble heavy on the brown color.
This outfit shows a notable contrast to the earlier costume of the Wonder Woman, which conventionally featured the colors gold, red, and blue. In fact, the actress Lynda Carter had been immortalized in the costume inspired by the comic books and 1970s small screen show dedicated to the crime fighting lady superhero.
Apart from appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot's Wonder Woman is also set to be featured in parts one and two of The Justice League in 2017 and 2019. Meanwhile, the actress has quite a number of other projects lined up this year including the films Criminal and Triple Nine.
Prior to landing the iconic role of Wonder Woman, Gadot has been widely commended for his roles in various small screen shows such as Eretz Nehederet, Asfur, The Beautiful Life: TBL, and Entourage. Moreover, she was featured in blockbuster films like Fast & Furious in 2009, Knight and Day and Date Night in 2010, Fast & Furious 6 in 2013, and Kicking Out Shoshana in 2014.
Wonder Woman will be directed by Michelle MacLaren, who is known for her work in Breaking Bad, The X-Files, and Harsh Realm. The script was written by Jason Fuchs, who also wrote Ice Age: Continental Drift.
