Who has signed on for American Horror Story's season five?
Actress Kathy Bates, who played huge roles in the show's Coven and Freak Show teased on Twitter that "time will tell" if she will be taking on a different role for the show.
Bates earlier told E! Online that she enjoys being part of American Horror Story since the characters are always so surprising and interesting.
"I love getting these fantastic characters to play," Bates said last October. "And co-creator Ryan Murphy's told me that he wants me to come back next year and it's getting hard to refuse, let me tell you! Everything's grown so much even since last year. It's amazing. I can't believe it."
Since American Horror Story had to bid one of its biggest stars Jessica Lange farewell as season four wrapped up, fans who have been loyal to the show have been wondering who has the acting prowess to keep the show going, and they are looking at Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson.
Paulson is currently busy shooting for Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story, so the question whether or not she will be in season five still hangs in the balance. Nothing is certain up to this point, and even the plot and setting of the next season remain a mystery.
Murphy earlier revealed that clues for season five can be found in Freak Show, and the most prominent clue would have to be the top hat figure.
He told Entertainment Weekly that the top hat reference in season four was no accident. "That is a big Season 5 clue!" he said. "It's an arcane clue, but it's very purposeful. And, it illuminates something."
Murphy even said last year that all American Horror Story series are somehow connected, and the episode "Orphans" from Freak Show gave fans that first connection through the characters of Pepper and Sister Mary Eunice from Coven, right before she was possessed.
"They're all connected. They're all very separate but there are clues every season. There are purposeful connections, character connections, and similarities and things that connect that we'll continue to connect moving forward," he said.
So it's guaranteed that the next story would somehow be linked to the previous seasons, and fans are guessing that the new setting would either be a magical stage show or a bomb testing site in Nevada and Utah during the 1950s.
