If you think Lady Gaga is already terrifying in real life, wait until you see her in the fifth season of American Horror Story, which she teased would be called "Hotel."
Lady Gaga made the announcement on her Twitter account by posting a 22 second video of her mysteriously covered in a black costume. She voices over, "American Horror Story season 5: Hotel" as she takes off her mask.
The controversial artist captioned it, "Make your reservations now." She added the hashtag "GagaAHSHotel."
Fans are already freaking out about Lady Gaga's involvement in American Horror Story season 5. "I cannot stop watching this," a Twitter user confessed.
One person even said that she's "kinda nervous for this" while another questioned, "Is this even real?"
A lot of fans who initially said they were through with the series had a change of heart when they heard about Lady Gaga's role, and is back to calling American Horror Story as "the best TV show."
For its part, ELLE Magazine called Lady Gaga's decision to join the series as "an incredible career move."
The "Born This Way" singer's post is quite the news in Twitter, since it has so far been retweeted over 116,000 times.
Lady Gaga's Twitter announcement was the first time anybody has confirmed details about season 5. Creator Ryan Murphy only hinted before that American Horror Story: Freakshow contained clues about the next season. Fans were quick to spot the top hat clue, which Murphy confirmed. But how does that tie up with Hotel?
Lady Gaga is the first big name to officially sign in to Hotel. Jessica Lange, arguably the biggest star in the American Horror Story franchise has confirmed that she will no longer play a role in season 5, while another alum Sarah Paulson is currently busy working on Murphy's other project, American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson.
Emma Roberts is also tied up with other commitments so her season 5 participation is still a question, which leaves her boyfriend and series regular Evan Peters to carry on the American Horror Story magic.
Murphy seems to like recruiting actors and actresses from the music industry. In season 4's Coven, he got Stevie Nicks to portray herself as a "white witch" and she even performed a song for the series. He has also enlisted Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas to appear in his new comedy horror series Scream Queens.
