As Cinderella's release date draws near, fans are more eager than ever to finally see Disney's live action film. To satiate that excitement, NOLA has come up with five interesting facts concerning the film.

Some of the facts stated have already been reported, such as the fact that it follows other live action adaptations of classic Disney animated films like Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent. After Cinderella, Disney will be working on Beauty and the Beast, which will star Harry Potter alum and UN ambassadress Emma Watson and Downton Abbey alum Dan Stevens. Talks about a remake of Jungle Book and Dumbo are also prevalent.

The second fact concerns the lead actress's tiny waist. Months before the release, people have been bashing the movie for altering Cinderella's waist and therefore giving young girls everywhere a distorted body ideal. But director Kenneth Branagh insist that they have not altered anything. James added that it's simply the work of her corset since she already has a small waist to begin with.

Aside from James, Helena Bonham Carter also encountered some wardrobe concerns. Carter plays Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, and she wears a four-foot wide dress. "The logistics of going to the ladies... well, you couldn't locate the toilet," the actress jokingly said. "I was a walking lamp with 4,000 LED lights inside my dress, so I had to have a 15-pound battery pack in my bum and there was a lovely Belgian man who worked for Phillips who had to come and turn me on every night."

The next interesting thing about Cinderella is that the new animated short film Frozen Fever will be shown a few minutes before the actual Cinderella film. Frozen Fever will star Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff and will see the characters prepare a surprise birthday bash for Anna. It will run for seven minutes, and will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck.

Lastly, NOLA provided fans with numbers. The crew used 16,000 flowers to film Cinderella's ballroom scene, and used 10,000 Swarovski crystals to decorate Cinderella's ball gown, which also used up 270 yards of fabric. Moreover, it has been 65 years since Disney's animated Cinderella film was shown in theatres.

Branagh has been nominated for five Oscars throughout his entire career (actor, supporting actor, director, screenplay, and short film). Other personalities who also received the same number of Oscar nominations are Warren Beatty, George Clooney, and John Houston.
