Game publisher EA Sports has unveiled a new price range system for the Ultimate Team mode of "FIFA 15."
Aside from implementing a standard pricing system, the new feature aims to eliminate illegal in-game coin transfers in "FIFA Ultimate Team" (FUT).
The price range, which went live on March 9, applies to all items including characters being sold through the game's Transfer Market. EA mentioned the feature will help gamers understand the true value of items and will make high-rated characters easier to purchase.
The system works by showing players the lowest and highest prices of items that can be sold. The range of the market value of the items is based on the price trend from previous Transfer Market transactions.
EA noted that the pricing of items for the Xbox, PC and PlayStation versions of the game is the same. The company also said that the market value in the game may change in the future depending on improvements made to the price range feature.
"We believe the long-term benefits of this new change will make FUT more fun and fair for everyone," the company wrote in the post. "We know that this is a significant change to FUT, and so we want your feedback."
"We are confident that, in the long run, the FUT community as a whole will come to appreciate the balanced benefits that this new feature will bring to all FUT players, but it's important you let us know what you think," EA continued.
Through a regulated pricing system, EA hopes to deter gamers from taking advantage of the game by selling coins in exchange for real money, according to IGN.
In most cases, some players sell coins and other items through the Transfer Market at expensive prices. Other gamers can then purchase these items with real money. With the new system, the items and coins will be priced fairly to eliminate in-game transactions using cash.
