'Prometheus 2' Release Date, Plot & Cast: Xenomorphs Left Out in Sequel?

Some people loved the movie Prometheus, while others just plain hated it. But whether or not people loved the movie enough for it to generate a sequel has been dealt with since Prometheus 2 is reportedly in the works already.

Director Ridley Scott said that the scripts for Prometheus 2 are currently evolving, and that the xenomorphs will no longer be in the next movie.

The first movie ended with the total destruction of the human race, with only Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) left alive and the Droid David (Michael Fassbender) is decapitated.

Shaw originally went to space in order to find mankind's creators called the "Engineers" and demand some answers why they wanted to kill them in the first place. The director hinted that an intimacy might even develop between Shaw and David. Apart from that, little is known about the Prometheus sequel.

So Cross Map gathered two popular theories on what the Prometheus sequel has to offer. The first is the Hell on Earth storyline theory. Predators director Nimrod Antal predicted: "Indeed the sequel is going to be better but it will NOT focus on the space engineers planet but on planet earth. Characters from earth will be introduced as signals from the spaceship Noomi is on will prompt Wayland sponsored military to go after it before it reaches earth."

He then dropped the bombshell: "Noomi's character will die in the middle, but a  woman hero (military) will take her place. We will not see the engineers planet until the third installment known as Paradise. The second is known under its  working name as Prometheus: Hell on Earth."

The website thought that the concept was interesting but very illogical, since it would involve Noomi's ship being shot down as an alien vessel by Weyland, then there will be "a future where Weyland has won and and earth dominated by Weyland technology."

The next theory is Dark Paradise and it is more popular than the former. In it, Shaw and David will persistently continue in their search of The Engineers, but naturally, their journey ahead will be difficult and fraught with many dangers.

It is possible that the two could meet "people in an off world colony" so there will be other characters in the sequel. Add to that, with new people there will also come a new monster that Shaw and David will have to fight off in Prometheus 2.

Prometheus 2 will arrive in theatres on March 4, 2016.
