The multi-award winning actor, Jim Parsons, was granted his own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, according to Variety.

Parsons became a household name since the debut of his quirky character, named Sheldon Cooper, in the widely popular television series, The Big Bang Theory, in 2006.

The comedian was accompanied during the event by his fellow cast members from the said show, namely, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting who plays Penny; Johnny Galecki who portrays the awkward Leonard Hofstadter; Simon Helberg who brings to life Howard Wolowitz; and Kunal Nayyar whose shy character, named Raj Koothrappali, endears him to many.

Also present in the event was Melissa Rauch who plays the wife of Helberg, Bernadette Rostenkowski, and of course, Mayim Bialik who portrays Parsons' love interest, Amy Farrah Fowler.

"One of the things I know is, the main reason I'm in this career and here today, is because of my family and the support they gave me, and the way I was encouraged to pursue this insane dream of acting, from Texas to here," shared Parsons as he lovingly looked on to his mother, Judy Parsons, and partner, Todd Spiewak.

The comedian went on to say that the "biggest reason" he attained this milestone is attributed to the opportunity given to him to portray such a lovable and "incredible" character that he claimed to "neither created, nor write for, nor put into a series."

"That credit goes to Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and Steve Molaro. And the credit goes to the rest of the cast," Parsons said during the event.

With regard his reaction to gaining recognition for his work in this manner, Parsons shared that he appreciated the scope of artists included in the list. "I like how all-encompassing it is," he explained. "It could be radio announcers you have never seen before or very, very visible and famous actors," Parsons added.

Meanwhile, the CBS show also expressed their appreciation of Parsons' latest achievement via a post in Twitter that read, "Because the celebration wouldn't be complete w this #BigBangTheory group shot. Congratulations #JimParsons!"

Parsons won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series numerous times as well as the Golden Globe in 2011.
