Cinderella lead actress Lily James is a huge fan of Disney princesses, but her favourite princess is actually not the one she brought to life in director Kenneth Branagh's recent live action movie.
"My favourite Disney princess is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. As a kid, I had long brown hair and I think you always side with the princess that you think maybe you could look like," she told PEOPLE magazine in a video interview.
James also revealed that she is no match to Cinderella when it comes to kindness. She is not an evil person, she explained, but she is not completely kind either.
"I don't think I'm wicked. I mean, I'm kind of wicked cool," the actress laughingly said. "Actually my brothers watched the film and they were like, 'You are not that nice!'"
This is the reason James believes that princesses should be considered superheroes themselves - because they try their best to remain kind no matter what the circumstance, therefore they inspire other people to become nice themselves.
The actress is a firm believer of true love, and she said that it does not exist only in fairy tales. In the film, Ella and the prince experience true love "not at first sight" but after they talked to each other and formed a connection, she said.
"In life you meet people and there's this connection that happens and you feel enriched because of them and you feel like you can achieve anything. That feeling of love I think is the best feeling in the world," James gushed.
Interestingly enough, the British actress said that she feels most like a princess when she is bursting with love and happiness, either for her boyfriend or her family. Sometimes, she added, she also feels princess-like during really fun parties.
As for real-life royalty, James shared that she wants to meet the pregnant Duchess Kate Middleton, but she has already met her husband England's Prince William.
"Sadly I've never met Princess Kate. But I have met Will. We were at a charity event and he said hello," she said. "I think he said something about Downton (Abbey). I think he likes Downton!"
James plays the free-spirited Rose in the hit British drama Downton Abbey. Fellow Downton Abbey alum Dan Stevens will be starring in the next Disney live action movie Beauty and the Beast alongside Harry Potter alum and UN Ambassadress Emma Watson.
