There is a new breed of Hollywood A-listers dominating the moviemaking industry, and they are all young and brimming with talent.
The Hollywood Reporter compiled a list of all the young actors to watch out for in Hollywood, and incidentally, three of them worked together in the Divergent sequel, Insurgent.
Shailene Woodley, 23, shot to fame as Beatrice "Tris" Prior in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. She also nabbed the lead roles in the tear-jerker The Fault in Our Stars and The Spectacular Now, and she will soon be starring alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Oliver Stone's biopic, called Snowden.
Her co-stars Ansel Elgort, 21, and Miles Teller, 28, also made the list. Elgort played Woodley's love interest in The Fault in Our Stars and played her Erudite brother in the Divergent franchise. He will soon star alongside Chloe Grace Moretz in November Criminals.
Teller, meanwhile, nabbed the role of Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. He will be playing Vinny Pazienza in the boxing drama Bleed for This and star in the movie Arms and the Dudes with Jonah Hill.
Two Downton Abbey alums also made the list, and they are none other than Cinderella lead actress Lily James, 25, and Dan Stevens, 32. There is no question that James transformed into a movie star overnight because of Cinderella, and her star will continue to burn bright in the upcoming films Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as well as the BBC miniseries War and Peace.
Stevens did not see immediate success after leaving Downton but he did get roles in movies such as Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, Criminal Activities, and Oppenheimer Strategies. What's guaranteed to cement his talent as an actor is Disney's next live action movie, Beauty and the Beast. Stevens will be playing Beast alongside Harry Potter alum Emma Watson as Belle.
Chris Pratt, 35, has been acting for years but it was only after starring in Guardians of the Galaxy that the limelight finally shone on him. He will be seen next on Jurassic World and Magnificent Seven. A lot of roles are eagerly waiting for Pratt in movies such as Passengers also starring Jennifer Lawrence, Ghostbusters, and Indiana Jones.
Another female who made the list is 26-year-old Emma Stone. Her rise to fame came slowly but surely, starting with 2010's Easy A. After that, she appeared in The Help and The Amazing Spider-Man. Stone's acting chops shone in Birdman, which earned her an Oscar nomination, and she will soon be starring in Magic in the Moonlight and Irrational Man.
Other names included are Lupita Nyong'O from 12 Years A Slave, Margot Robbie from Focus, Anna Kendrick from Into the Woods, Dakota Johnson from Fifty Shades of Grey, Michael B. Jordan from Fantastic Four, Felicity Jones from The Theory of Everything, Chadwick Boseman from 42, and Eddie Redmayne from Les Miserables.
