A surprise appearance by Hollywood A-lister and widely known philanthropist, Angelina Jolie, definitely added to the glitz and glamor of the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday. Alongside the actress were her daughters Shiloh and Zahara who both thoroughly enjoyed the night as they watched performances from their favorite artists, according to Us Magazine.

Jolie was nominated for two awards this year, namely, Favorite Villain and Favorite Movie Actress, for her role in the widely renowned flick, Maleficent. Her appearance came less than a week after the surgery she undertook in an effort to reduce, or even potentially eliminate, any possibility of succumbing to cancer. On March 24, Jolie was reported to have had her ovaries and fallopian tubes surgically removed due to a cancer care that recently rocked their family.

"Different is good so don't fit in. Don't sit still. Don't ever try to be less than what you are," Jolie shared during her acceptance speech following her victory as the Best Villain. "And when someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud," she added.

The event started with an incredible performance from former Disney star and Jonas Brothers' singer, Nick Jonas, who gave a fun filled rendition of his chart topping singles, Jealous and Chains. His date for the popular kids' show was none other than beauty queen Olivia Culpo, who also hosts various events following her victory in the Ms. Universe competition in 2012.

Apart from the former boy band member, other hit singers and dancers graced the stage such as Zendaya, who recently ended a race-based feud with Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic; Australian rapper Iggy Azalea who skyrocketed to fame in her collaboration with singer Charli XCX in their popular single Fancy; and American girl group from the talent competition X Factor, Fifth Harmony.

Jennifer Hudson, the multi-award winning singer who made her debut in the American Idol stage in 2004, and Cody Simpson, another Australian artist who made headlines not only for his music but also due to his close friendship with controversial stars Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, were also featured during the show.
