It has become a tradition for Marvel movie fans to sit through the entire movie credits in order to get a glimpse of what the studio is planning to do next in their upcoming films.

For a lot of fans, the post-credits scenes are just as exciting as the actual movie they have just seen, since it offers a glimpse into the studio's next big project. But with their highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron film, director Joss Whedon is saying that fans are free to go as soon as the movie wraps up.

There will definitely be no post-credits scene, according to the director and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. The two told Entertainment Weekly that there will only be a mid-credits clip, but that's about it.

"There is nothing at the very end. And that's not a fake-out," said Whedon. "We want people to know so they don't sit there for 10 minutes and then go: 'I'll kill them!'"

Feige added: "There will be a tag. That is, there will be a short, epilogue-like scene that pops up shortly after the credits start. But there's not a post-post-credit scene."

Both Whedon and Feige believe that there will be no topping the previous Avengers post-credit scene where the group was seen eating shawarma. "We all came at it separately-we don't want to chase that," Whedon said. "That was a jewel and a weird little quirk."

The group tried to come up with something witty and worthy for the end credits, but simply fell short of the shawarma's greatness. "It didn't seem to lend itself in the same way, and we wanted to be true to what felt right," Whedon said.

The director added that the first rule of making a sequel is to take the best moments of the original one and then create something else. Because if they simply follow the original movie, said Whedon, then audiences will not be pleased.

"Don't do the Indiana Jones gun trick again differently. Just go somewhere else. Don't try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it," he said.

The director let on that there will be a lot of surprises when Avengers: Age of Ultron is finally released on May 1. They will include a lot of superpowered characters in the previous films that will make an appearance, including a secret female character. Feige actually feels that people already know who she is.

"It's not a big deal. But it's a good character," said Feige.
