The leaked video and images of rumored iPad Mini 4 revealed that Apple's latest tablet might shares some external features of the iPad Air 2.
The functions of the iPad Mini 4 were not demonstrated since the clip only focused on the tablet's rear casing, according to Apple Insider.
The video was made and released by the French tech site Nowhereese.fr. Based on the video, the design of iPad Mini 4's shell, which is made from aluminum, looks similar to that of the iPad Air 2. Like the latter, the former's casing also has a row of speaker holes as well as a Lightning port located at the bottom of the shell.
In addition, the part of the casing for the mute switch, as seen in iPad Mini 2 and Mini 3 models, has been replaced with a port for a microphone.
As for its thickness, it is not yet confirmed if the iPad Mini 4 will be sleeker than its predecessors. However, recent rumors suggest that Apple's latest device will be thinner than the previous tablets.
In addition, the iPad Mini 4 might be powered by the A8X processor, which is similar to the one found in the iPad Air 2. But this could still change once Apple officially launches A9 processor sometime this year, according to Mac Rumors.
Although there is no debut date yet for Apple's latest tablet, the company is known for releasing new updates every year. The first iPad Mini came out in 2012. It was followed by the iPad Mini 2 in 2013 and its successor, the iPad Mini 3 in 2014. Following this pattern, the iPad Mini 4 could come out in 2015.
The upcoming device is expected to come with much better features compared to its predecessors. This is certainly good for Apple since a lot of consumers were disappointed with the release of the iPad Mini 3 due to its features. The third version is basically like the iPad Mini 2 except for the addition of the Touch ID fingerprint sensing system, GSM Arena reported.
