Professional golfer Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods announced that he will be competing in the 2015 Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Woods is one of the most highly paid and successful American athletes to date. The 79th Masters Tournament will begin on Thursday, April 9 and end on Sunday, April 12.
Participation in the Masters Tournament is by invitation only. The selected golfers will play at the Augusta National Golf Club. It is an annual event that began in 1934. The winner of the Masters Tournaments is named champion. The champion has his or her name engraved on the Masters Trophy. The champion receives a sterling silver replica of the Masters trophy, a gold medal, and a green jacket.
Woods begins the first round at 1:48 p.m. with Welshman Jamie Donaldson and American Jimmy Walker. Woods will play the second round at 10:30 a.m. All tee times are listed on the PGA website. The game will air online on Masters Radio at 2 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
Fans can watch the Masters Tournament on the ESPN television channel on Thursday and Friday at 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m Eastern Time. On the weekend, they can watch it on the CBS channel at 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
