A micro website for LG has revealed the overall design and some features of the company's upcoming flagship smartphone, the G4.
Based on the leak, some variants of the LG G4 will be dressed in a leather back casing while other models will feature a bare plastic shell, according to Value Walk.
Unfortunately, the site has been taken down but various news sites were able to acquire images of the mobile device.
According to reports, the premium-looking LG G4 variants will have a rear leather cover that comes in multiple colors such as brown, black, yellow, baby blue and purple. The genuine leather covers have stitches running down the middle and slots for the device's rear camera, speakers and home button.
Android Police pointed out that both the leather and bare plastic versions have removable rear covers. This aspect can be considered as a plus for LG because it provides future G4 owners the option to get new and differently colored rear covers for their devices.
As for the device's features, various sources indicated that the specifications listed on the micro site are only placeholders and are very similar to those of the LG G3.
However, as revealed in previous reports, the LG G4 will have a 16-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus feature. On the front side, the G4 will sport a 5.5-inch quad HD screen display.
The LG G4 will also have a removable 3000mAh battery pack that can be accessed by removing the rear cover as well as a microSD card slot, The Verge reported.
For its processor, some rumors are suggesting that LG might go for the Snapdragon 810 for the G4 since this is the same powerful chip installed in the G Flex 2. However, due to the heating problems encountered by LG with this processor, the company might equip the G4 with the slower Snapdragon 808 processor instead.
In addition, the micro site listed the Android 4.4.2 KitKat as the OS of the G4. But since LG is already rolling out Lollipop updates for its other devices, the G4 might run on the newer Android 5.0 versions.
