"Crazy Stupid Love' stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone may be headed to a reunion soon for Damien Chazelle's musical "La La Land.'

According to writer and director Chazelle, he had plans of considering Miles Teller, the star of his Oscar-nominated film "Whiplash', in joining the musical. However, the actor has confirmed that he will be moving on with other projects.

To be set in contemporary Los Angeles, "La La Land' has been described as a traditional musical love story with which a jazz pianist falls for an aspiring actress. Stone and Gosling are reportedly being considered to take on these roles, although there have been no final decisions yet.

The duo previously portrayed a couple in the comedy-drama film "Crazy Stupid Love' in 2011 with which the film raked in approximately $142 million at the global box office.

While Chazelle originally planned to cast Teller, he also intended to have "Harry Potter' actress Emma Watson in the musical; however, the 25-year-old star left the project to pursue Disney's live-action adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast.'

Meanwhile, Gosling made his directorial debut with fantasy film "Lost River' and has also made a comeback in acting. He is currently filming "The Big Short', helmed by Adam McKay as based on Michael Lewis' non-fiction book. Gosling appears in the movie alongside Brad Pitt and Christian Bale.

In addition, the "Drive' actor will appear in "Weightless' helmed by Terrence Malick; Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman and Rooney Mara will appear in this movie on love, obsession and betrayal.

Gosling has also been set to star in the crime mystery thriller pic "The Nice Guys' by Shane Black alongside Russell Crowe and Matt Bomer. He will also reportedly join Guillermo del Toro for the supernatural family flick "The Haunted Mansion.'

For Stone, she will appear next in Cameron Crowe's romantic-comedy film "Aloha', which has been set for a release on May 29 from Columbia Pictures (North America) and 20th Century Fox (international theaters).

The "Amazing Spider-Man' actress will also star in the upcoming mystery comedy-drama film "Irrational Man', opposite Joaquin Phoenix, about a philosophy professor in the midst of an existential crisis. Released by Sony Pictures Classics, the film will hit theaters by July 17.
