While it is no big secret that the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron includes some of Hollywood's most remarkable and fresh talents, it still stunned and amused the franchise's fans and followers when Robert Downey, Jr. revealed his role when the cameras stop rolling. The Iron Man star revealed during the movie's premier in London that he viewed himself as the "assistant den mother" while filming the soon to be blockbuster hit, according to Star Tribune.

"I am an assistant den mother for him [director Joss Whedon]," Downey, Jr. shared, adding that he and the Avengers director are more of "contemporaries" due to the actor's role behind the scenes. He also shared that the situation was to be expected since the movie included younger actors.

"With some younger talent, they're very exuberant," he described. Downey, Jr. then admitted that watching the rest of the cast interact and move around when they were not shooting scenes during the filmmaking process reminded him of his younger days. "I remember when I was that way," he revealed. "I kind of feel like I'm the assistant principal," he teased, referring to his relationship with the other actors and the director who presumably took on the higher role of principal.

For her part, Scarlett Johansson who plays the role of Black Widow, described the experience of working once again with the team as "amazing."

"I mean first of all it's great to be able to share this experience with actors that are really friends of mine," she shared, adding that she "feels like we're all in it together." Johansson then said that she sees their team as "all a part of something that has this huge fan base." She admitted that along with an amazing script and a great cast and crew to work with, the film's vast following worldwide provided a" built-in excitement and it's not always like that."

Meanwhile, new team members Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, who took on the roles of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, respectively, are both in awe of the massive success waiting to happen following the release of the film worldwide.

However, Olsen appears to believe that these accomplishments should be majorly attributed to the earlier cast whom she stated to have "already done the work of establishing a fan base." She then went on to admit that she "feels like I've snuck in."

As for the Avengers' director, Whedon, he admitted that his departure from the project was a bittersweet moment. "Yeah it's sort of like sending your kid off to college, it's like wow, they really don't need me anymore, do they?" he shared. "At the same time it's like, 'My kid's gone, party all night!' You know, I'm going to pick my actual kids up from school, I'm going to read books, it's going to get crazy," Whedon further commented.
