Filming of TLC's '19 Kids and Counting' recently caused much panic as the youngest Duggar, Josie, suffered a seizure and was found unresponsive by her own siblings. After being rushed to the hospital, she was also able to return home with her family.
During her medical crisis, the 5-year-old's unresponsiveness was first noticed by older brother James.
"He [James] asked her a question, and she didn't really respond," their sister Jana told the cameras. "She was just sitting there, staring, and then started jerking. He knew immediately, "okay, that's a seizure' and so he ran and got me."
Even Scott Enlow, the director of the episode, pitched in to assist Janna before the paramedics arrived. When they reached the hospital, Josie was asked to undergo a CT scan.
Not out of the ordinary, this seizure has only been the latest of her other attacks which she has already experienced before. Josie was born premature at 25 weeks and has been taken to the hospital multiple times during her first year.
"One of the little glitches for Josie is that if she runs a fever she does have a tendency to have febrile seizures," her mother Michelle stated in an interview.
Unfortunately, Josie's parents were not present at the time when Josie's seizure occurred. The only thing Michelle held on to was prayers before her youngest child was able to come home in good shape.
Meanwhile, the other Duggars have also been kept busy as Jessa and Ben had recently gotten back from their European travels this week.
Jill and Derick have also been pulling in important parenting tips from Anna and Josh, known as the D.C. Duggars.
"I've definitely observed kids from a distance before, but it's been really good being in Jill's family," Derick shared.
While Jill and Derick have been extremely grateful for the presence and support of the Duggars, Anna and Josh have been alone in D.C. which raises an issue as to how their own parenting can work out.
Josh also shared that he has not been entirely comfortable living in D.C. away from the family, support network and "all the things that we take for granted."
While Jill has already given birth to baby boy Israel Dillard last April 6, Anna is expected to deliver her child in July and hopes to carry on with the process in her own home.
"19 Kids and Counting' airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
