Sawyer Fredericks, Koryn Hawthorne, Joshua Davis, and Meghan Linsey competed in the final week of "The Voice' Season 8 on Monday, May 18. America was able to vote on their favorite artist by texting, calling, iTunes purchases, and also online. Voting closed on Tuesday, May 19 before the final results show. Fredericks ultimately won $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
All four finalists sang a duet with their individual coaches. Fredericks sang "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Croft with Pharrell Williams, Hawthorne sang "We Can Work It Out" by The Beatles with Pharrell Williams, Linsey sang "Freeway of Love" by Aretha Franklin with Blake Shelton, and Davis sang "Diamonds On the Soles of Her Feet" by Paul Simon with Adam Levine.
For the solo portion of the night, the singers sang a selection from fan's choice. Fredericks sang "Old Man" by Neil Young, Linsey sang "When A Man Loves A Woman" by Percy Sledge, Hawthorne sang "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown, and Davis sang "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen.
Each contestant was able to perform an original song and debut it live on stage. They also released a music video for their original singles. Fredericks sang "Please" by his favorite artist Ray Montagne, Hawthorne sang "Bright Fire" by her coach Williams, Linsey sang her own song "Change My Mind," and Davis sang his own song "The Workingman's Hymn."
'The Voice' is an American reality television singing competition show.
