Microsoft is reportedly preparing to launch its newest tablet device, the Surface Pro 4 this summer.
As the company's upcoming tablet-laptop hybrid approaches its rumored released date, new details about its specifications are also starting to emerge.
Various sources are suggesting that the Surface Pro 4 will hit the market in July, just in time for the release of the highly anticipated Windows 10 OS. If this is true, then Microsoft's latest tablet will most likely be shipped out with the latest version of the Windows system.
However, since this is still unconfirmed, Microsoft could launch the Surface Pro 4 at an earlier release date, but with the Windows 8 instead of the Windows 10, International Business Times reported.
But according to Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, a semiconductor firm that closely works with Microsoft, the Surface Pro 4 and Windows 10 will most probably come out in July in preparation for the school year.
"What we also are factoring is, you know, with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up," she said according to Venture Beat.
As for the specs, reports are suggesting the Surface Pro 4 will have two variants: the 12-inch model and a 14-inch edition. The tablet is also expected to be powered by Intel's newest Skylake chip which comes with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage space, Crossmap has learned.
For its camera features, the tablet will sport an 8-megapixel rear shooter. The front side, on the other hand, will feature a 3.5-megapixel front camera. In addition, Microsoft will reportedly equip the Surface Pro 4 with a new graphics processing unit model to enhance its visual quality.
Although the Surface Pro 4's details have already been leaked, keep in mind that Microsoft is yet to make an official announcement regarding its features and release date.
