Xperia Z3+ Release Date, Price & Specs: Sony Launches Global Version of Japanese-Exclusive Xperia Z4

Sony has quietly unveiled its latest handset, the Xperia Z3+ along with its dual SIM variant.

The mobile device serves as the global version of the tech giant's Xperia Z4 smartphone, which will be exclusively released in Japan this month, The Verge has learned.

The Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z3+ Dual will be officially released to the public in June. However, Sony has not yet revealed the actual retail prices of the handsets or their specific regional release dates. These details may probably be revealed by Sony within the next few days before the official release of the devices.

The two variants will come in four different colors: Aqua Green, Copper, White and Black. Both devices, with the exception of the dual SIM support, carry the same specifications. They are also enclosed in a water and dust proof metal frame.

The Xperia Z3+ sports a 5.2-inch full HD Triluminos display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is also equipped with the X-Reality mobile picture engine, NDTV reported.

For its processor, Sony powered the latest Xperia device with the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be pushed to 128GB through a microSD card.

Regarding its camera features, the Xperia Z3+ packs a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS BSI sensor, pulsed LED flash and Bionz image processor. On the front side, the handset has a 5-megapixel shooter that's equipped with the same Exmor sensor.

The device's connectivity features are supported by Bluetooth, hotspot Wi-Fi, NFC, DLNA, Micro-USB, Glonass, A-GPS, GPS, LTE, 4G and 3G.

The out-of-the-box Xperia Z3+ model is expected to run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

Measuring at 146x72x6.9 millimeters and weighing around 144 grams, the Xperia Z3+ is slimmer than its predecessor, the Xperia Z3. It also features the same specs as its Japan-only counterpart, the Xperia Z4, according to the Xperia Blog.
