Actress Keira Knightley and her musician spouse James Righton have welcomed their first child together, as confirmed by multiple sources to E! News and Us Weekly.
In December 2014, it was announced that "The Imitation Game' star was expecting. Although she seldom shared details about her pregnancy, she was spotted several times with her growing baby bump in public as she promoted the bio-drama film during awards season.
For a laugh, Knightley joked about having to go into labor during her appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show' in February this year.
"My plan is to get it out," the 30-year-old actress jokingly said, laughing. "[I'll] drop it out, keep working. Pick [the baby] up, that's my plan. That would be wonderful for television, but not so good for me."
In April of 2011, Knightley and Righton went public with their relationship and eventually exchanged wedding vows in May of 2013 in a private ceremony in France.
After weeks of pregnancy rumors, Knightley confirmed to Elle UK in December that she had been carrying their first child together.
Although the "Anna Karenina' star shared about looking forward to welcoming their first baby, she did admit that she was previously "in denial' about it.
Last February, Knightley also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and was asked by Kimmel himself whether she had already made the preparations for her baby's room.
"No. They're quite small though right?" she stated, while adding: "Do they need a room of their own?"
Kimmel explained to the actress that it is important to have space for the crib and everything else when preparing the child's room.
"Okay... I'm in denial at the moment," she replied lightheartedly.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean' star has made it clear that she does prefer to have children, although she promised that she would never quit her career to raise her family.
In her 2012 interview with Vogue magazine, Knightley spoke up about being able to freely make choices as a parent.
She shared her sentiments with the following statement: "I don't want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at."
Even "The Imitation Game' director Morten Tyldum opened up about looking forward to Knightley becoming a mother, saying that she would be a "wonderful mom."
"She's a wonderful person! She's so sincere, so loving and her husband is great and they're such a great couple," Tyldum shared.
