Kit Harington rose to fame by playing Jon Snow, one of the Night Watch's most useful and enduring members on the HBO hit "Game of Thrones.'
However, in the latest teaser for the new drama "Testament of Youth', the British actor transforms from a Lord Commander and direwolf owner into a more affectionate World War I soldier.
Harington admits his feeling of fondness towards his love interest, Vera Brittain, who is portrayed by Swedish actress Alicia Vikander. He promises her and their relationship with the following statement: "No more fear."
The trailer begins with the couple walking around the gardens as Harington, who plays poet Roland Leighton, offers his congratulations to Vera, saying: "Such good news about Oxford."
However, the lady replies with a cold response, saying: "Look, if it's friendship you want, that's fine with me. I prefer clarity, that's all."
The conversation touches on several concerns, including the fact that her partner's mother does not even acknowledge her as well as Roland's bad decision for never writing back to Vera.
She does not believe the aspiring poet's excuse that he was not "good with words", especially since he was recognized as "someone who wants to be a writer."
At the end of the clip, the couple can be seen holding hands as they agree that there will be "no more fear" to address their struggles.
"It's disturbing being a part of storylines in "Thrones' that are difficult to act and difficult to watch, but I think they are very well constructed by the writers," Harington told NY Daily News.
All in all, "Testament of Youth' is drawn out from the memoir of the same title created by Vera Brittain herself. The movie coincides with the 100th anniversary of the international conflict that occurred between 1914 and 1918.
"This is a real diary of someone who goes to the First World War "” and then suddenly, it just stops when he dies. It's harrowing and terrifying and very emotional. It is just as invading as [fictional] drama," the actor shared.
"Testament of Youth' has been scheduled for an official release this June 5, 2015.
Meanwhile, Harington also previously opened up about his experiences in transitioning and filming more "contemporary" fight scenes for the upcoming film "Spooks.'
The actor reportedly filmed all his own stunts in the spy movie, which almost resulted to an accident. He also compared the series version of "Spooks' and the widely acclaimed HBO hit "Game of Thrones.'
"I don't think you can ever count on anyone making it alive in "Game of Thrones', as with "Spooks' when it was on air," Harington said. "I really don't know. I love Jon, I hope he does, but you can't get too attached."
