‘Minecraft’ Downloads & Patch: Update 1.9 To Feature Left Arm Option for Gamers

Minecraft

A developer from Mojang, the studio behind the open-world sandbox title "Minecraft," has revealed the possible details for the game's upcoming update 1.9.

Based on the developer's revelation, the update might include an option where gamers can utilize their character's left arm, International Business Times reported.

Originally, gamers can only control the right arm of their characters in the game. Even in first person mode, players can only interact with their surroundings or other characters using the same hand.

But for the upcoming update, Nathan Adams of Mojang said through Twitter that he will be introducing a new option that will allow users to switch between the left and right arms of their characters. The hand that players choose will be considered by the game as the character's main arm.

As the main arm, it can be primarily used to wield weapons and carry various items. Adams even posted a screenshot of a "Minecraft" character using its left arm.

"I said 'main arm' because I'm introducing a lefty option," he tweeted. "You can change your main arm to your left arm. Other people see it too."

Despite the inclusion of the new option, Adams clarified that players will not be allowed to use both arms simultaneously. This means they will not be able to attack using both arms.

Although both hands can carry weapons at the same time, only the main arm can be used to attack.

But even though Adams constantly tweets about the progress on update 1.9, he noted that its details are not yet final. This means its various additions to the game such as the lefty option could either be scrapped or changed depending on Mojang's final decision.

"Worth noting: things about 1.9 that I tweet are not 100% final, that's why [there are] no snapshots and not much info," he tweeted. "Things may change further.

In addition, there is no official release date yet as to when update 1.9 for "Minecraft" will arrive.
