Jerry Seinfeld and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, former co-stars of 1990's hit television sitcom "Seinfeld' had a mini reunion on Wednesday, June 3. The two actor-comedians reminisced about "Seinfeld' in the Season 6 premiere of "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee,' an online web series. Each episode features a vintage car, a guest comedian, and a drive to a café and restaurant for coffee. Episode 1 "I'll Go If I Don't Have To Talk" guest starred Dreyfus. Seinfeld picked her up in a 1964 Aston Martin DBS. They went to Caffe Luxxe and Art's Table in Santa Monica, California.
"Seinfeld' ran for 9 seasons on NBC from 1989 to 1998. The show revolved around friendships and other relationships between four best friends. The set was usually Seinfeld's apartment in Manhattan, New York. The popular network series was the source of inspiration for newer series like "Friends.'
"Nothing had ever been written like that before, like it was just a conversation as opposed to a setup, punchline, setup, punchline. And I just remember thinking, "This is so nice and relaxed. It's got such a different "¦ it'll never go," said Dreyfus to Seinfeld about their former show on the season premiere.
"Seinfeld' starred Jerry Seinfeld as himself, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes, Michael Richards as Cosmo Kramer, and Jason Alexander as George Costanza. Jerry was "the voice of reason" amongst his friends. Elaine was Jerry's ex-girlfriend who on occasion was portrayed as self-righteous and bad-tempered. Cosmo was Jerry's neighbor who had an eccentric hairstyle who usually did outrageous things like take all of Jerry's shoes from his closet. George was Jerry's friend from high school who was dishonest, grumpy, and usually jealous of others.
