'Jurassic World' 2015: Jake Johnson Talks Sequel and the Perks of Working with Colin Trevorrow

Jurassic World

Jake Johnson's character is pretty hard to miss in the "Jurassic World" movie directed by Colin Trevorrow. Even though his character Lowery did not engage in any action scenes and was in the control room the entire time, he was a hero for not leaving even as havoc was ensuing in the dinosaur theme park.

Lowery was the guy in glasses who got a verbal beating down from Bryce Dallas Howard's character Claire Dearing for wearing a "Jurassic Park" T-shirt, and he was also the one who had a mini dinosaur collection stacked in front of his work station.

He was such a memorable character that Lowery will even be included in the "Jurassic World" video game. "That's all I know for sure, which was pretty wild to go do a voiceover for a video game," he told Screen Rant.

Speaking about the "Jurassic World" sequel, Johnson said that he will "move anything in my schedule to do it. I'd give a pinkie to be in it."

"Lowery is not leaving the park," he stressed. "If the movie comes back for 'Jurassic World 2' well it would be a shame if he wasn't there, wouldn't it?"

Johnson has nothing but praises to give Trevorrow, his vision, and his work ethics, and even described it as nothing short of "phenomenal." It's tricky for an actor to work with a director who does not have any confidence or vision, but Trevorrow is not lacking in those aspects.

"What's so great about working with a guy like Colin, he's imagined all of this in his head. He would walk me through what he wanted and where the cameras would go and I could see what he wanted and it was great," he said.

What Johnson and the rest of the "Jurassic World" cast had to do next was just fulfil Trevorrow's vision, and it was something the actor appreciated. The rest of the crew were pretty happy working with Trevorrow too, and despite the scorching heat of the sun, they all spoke of the director with "such love" because he made their work fun. "He makes it fun because he loves the movie," explained Johnson.

"I kind of knew no matter what, this movie was going to be great because Colin does not have a too-cool-for-school attitude," he noted. "He loves 'Jurassic Park' and he wanted to make 'Jurassic World' really fun for the audience, and you want to be in movies where the director is unbelievably passionate."
