Various sources are reporting that a jailbreak version for Apple's iOS 8.3 might be released in July by the Chinese group Keen Team.
The same group is also reportedly planning on creating a jailbreak tool for iOS 9.
For the iOS 8.3 jailbreak, the Keen Team worked alongside another Chinese group dubbed as Team Pangu, WCCF Tech reported.
With a jailbreak version of iOS 8.3, users will no longer be limited to the services offered by Apple. Aside from maximizing the system's overall interface, the unauthorized version of the OS will allow them to access apps that are not available in Apple's iTunes.
These include applications supported by Chinese app stores, which WCCF Tech claims are willing to pay up to $1 million to hackers to create untethered jailbreak versions of the iOS system.
The IOS 8.3 jailbreak will come out shortly after Apple releases iOS 8.4 on June 30. Although iOS 8.3 jailbreak is now ready, Keen Team wants to release it after iOS 8.4 debuts to prevent Apple from creating patches against the exploits used by the team, according to Gotta be Mobile.
But aside from the iOS 8.3, the Keen Team is also planning on releasing a jailbreak version for iOS 9 shortly after it is rolled out to the public, which is expected to come out this fall.
Although details about the iOS 9 jailbreak are still unclear, it would be interesting to know how Keen Team will be able to execute it. After all, it was previously reported that Apple is working on a new security system to protect iOS from jailbreakers, Business Insider has learned.
Dubbed as Rootless, the new feature will be included in the operating systems for Apple's iPhones and Mac devices. It works by preventing sensitive data from being modified and even restricts high-level admin users from accessing files on Apple devices.
Through the new system, Apple aims to prevent hackers from creating jailbreak versions of its OS. However, for the OS X, or the operating system of Mac devices, the Rootless feature can be disabled.
