OnePlus One Updates & Specs: OxygenOS 1.01 Released to Fix Touch Screen Issues

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has just released the OxygenOS 1.01 update for the One device.

According to the company, the update comes with a patch that will fix the handset's touch screen issues, 9to5Google reported.

After the release of the One smartphone, one of the issues users experienced with the device is its unresponsive touch screen.

Some noted that the device does not respond to their gestures. Other users reported that the smartphone sometimes activates certain functions even though they didn't tap on its icon displayed on the screen.

Although some users found a way to get around these problems, such as holding down the Power button to reboot the device or changing the theme, the issues related to the touch screen sensitivity still remained, Digital Trends has learned.

Fortunately, OnePlus was able to come up with a permanent fix through the OxygenOS 1.01 update. The update is now available and can be downloaded from the company's forum page.

OnePlus, however, did not mention the other features of the update. It only noted that it will be able to fix the device's touch screen problems.

The company also said that the update is not only for One devices running on the OxygenOS. Users who own older versions of the device, or those that came with the Cyanogen OS, can also access the update through a build version.

"In addition, our friends over at Fastboot Mobile and XDA actually worked on a migration tool that will allow those of you who haven't tried OxygenOS yet to easily flash from CM 11 or 12 without losing your data," OnePlus stated.

"The tool is in beta but we thought it was pretty cool so why not share it and let you play with it," the company continued.

The OxygenOS build for the Cyanogen OS can also be downloaded through OnePlus's forum page. However, users are strongly advised to strictly follow the update's download instructions to avoid bricking their devices.
