The developer of the upcoming "Forza Motorsport 6" has revealed new game play details for the game.
This includes an option for gamers to play the game as a female driver.
During Turn 10 Studios' presentation at the recent E3 event, creative director Bill Giese said the racing-simulation game will have an option that will allow players to change gender of their characters. In other words, they can race as a female or male driver.
"For the first time, yes, in 'Forza Motorsport 6' you will be able to change your driver," Giese told IGN. "And you'll be able to choose between a male or female driver."
Giese noted that the studio decided to include the gender option in the upcoming game after learning more about the "Forza" series' fans.
Aside from the inclusion of female drivers, Turn 10 Studios also announced that the game will feature wet-weather racing conditions.
For this setting, the game's development team visited various courses including Germany's Nurburging race track to observe areas while being drenched in rain, according to Master Herald.
Based on the team members' observations, they were able to recreate realistic virtual puddles for the game's race tracks. But aside from the visual effect of driving through rain and puddles, these elements can also affect driving conditions.
According to Turn 10 Studios, in wet-weather racing, players have to be extra careful driving their cars because the tracks are more slippery. In addition, deep puddles can cause cars in the game to hydroplane and lose control.
"[The rain] affects the way it looks but also the way the player experiences it through the game, in a unified way," Giese said to Ars Technica.
"So the way the rain drops streak across the screen or the way driving through a puddle pulls you sideways," he added.
"Forza Motorsport 6" is scheduled to be released in North American on September 15, 2015. It will be exclusively available for Microsoft's Xbox One console.
