Next Week's WWE Raw Main Event: With Brock Lesnar Out of the Picture, Who Will Be The Next Victim of Seth Rollins and the Authority?

Seth Rollins

Fans and followers of WWE might recall that Seth Rollins lowered his pride earlier this week to seek the forgiveness of the Authority - three members of the team in particular - in an effort to once again fortify his stance as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. While in the ring with Kane and J&J Security, however, Rollins' efforts to bring back the camaraderie in their group was interrupted when the former title holder, Brock Lesnar, himself went out to confront him, according to The Independent.

In the first few minutes following his entrance, "The Beast" had been successful in his efforts to bulldoze over Kane, Jamie Noble, and Joey Mercury as well as delivered numerous "Suplex City" assaults against Rollins, who earlier asserted that he can singlehandedly battle Lesnar as he is not afraid of the latter's strength at all. However, the tides turned when the Authority got its groove back and decided to work together to take him down. Watch the action packed scene here.

These events were echoed in the announcement made regarding the WWE Main Event on Monday. "It was almost a foregone conclusion that Brock Lesnar would dismantle Seth Rollins to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Battleground," the synopsis read, according to Wrestling Inc. It added, "However, The Architect changed many a mind last week on Raw, when he mended fences with his Authority allies and brutalized The Beast Incarnate."

The announcement then went on to reveal the match to watch out for next week. It said, "Now that they have successfully transformed the unstoppable Anomaly into an underdog, The Authority's two heavy hitters, Rollins & Kane, will put their combined skills to the test against Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns in the main event of Raw." While this match-up will definitely be exciting, especially with the palpable tension among the four players, Daily DDT points out that the same grouping was featured on May 25.

Meanwhile, the victory of the Authority over Lesnar earlier did not spare Noble from injuries. During the rampage of The Beast, it could be seen that he tossed the J&J Security member into the barricade separating the crowd from the stage. While his partner, Mercury, went back for more action in the ring, Noble was actually taken out of the area through a stretcher, according to Uproxx.
