It looks the family drama among the Hudsons is yet to come to an end as Bill Hudson, the father of Oliver and Kate, decided to respond to the Father's Day sentiments of his children with former flame Goldie Hawn.
The father of actress Kate Hudson and her brother, Oliver, opens up about his strained relationship with his two children. "I had five birth children and I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own," Bill says in an interview with Daily Mail. Apart from this sentiment, the enraged father went on to say that he is has now decided to "set them free," presumably referring to both the actress and her sibling. "I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth," added Bill, according to E Online.
The issue came to light when Oliver posted an old photo of himself, Kate and Bill in Instagram during Father's Day. Instead of the usual sweet message, however, he captioned the photo with "Happy abandonment day" and tagged his sister. Kate, for her part, did not comment on the post but chose to post a Father's Day tribute on her own - this time sending out a heartwarming message to Kurt Russel, the man both she and her brother looks up to as their true father. She posted, "Pa, just simply...thank you. Happy Father's Day I love you to the moon and back."

Both social media posts by the Hudson siblings later on sparked a debate among netizens with some even urging the family to mend their broken relationships. A week following the controversy, however, Bill took it upon himself to point out that he has no interest in repairing the damage. He told Daily Mail, "I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name. They are no longer a part of my life." Addressing the social media posts, Bill said, "Oliver's Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate." He then went on to say that Oliver's post on Father's was the final straw and said the message was a like a "dagger to the heart." Hence, he decided to finally set the record straight and clarify the rumors hounding his life and tagging me as the "absentee father." In the interview with Daily Mail, Bill cited the extramarital affairs engaged in by his former wife, Hawn, as the primary reason for the breakdown of their marriage. While the two eventually ended their relationship, Kate and Oliver's dad claimed that their arrangement in terms of the children remained amicable. Noting that things went from great to disastrous when Russell came along, Bill shared that he was gradually "alienated" from his children as Hawn's new husband took his place. He said, "She gave interviews about her "wonderful" relationship with Kurt and how the kids called him "Pa". She described me as an absent father." Bill added, "I'd call her and go "Goldie, how can you say that?" but she'd just reply: "It's a better story."
