There are so many heroes attached in Captain America' standalone film "Civil War," and it will be the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie that will introduce new characters such as T'Challa, also known as the Black Panther and the Prince of Wakanda.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige tried not to talk about the character's involvement in "Captain America: Civil War" without giving away too much spoilers.

He told Birth Movies Death, "The reason we introduced him in 'Civil War' is because we needed a third party. We needed fresh eyes who wasn't embedded with the Avengers and who has a very different point of view than either Iron Man or Captain America. We said, 'We need somebody like Black Panther... why don't we just use Black Panther?' That's how it went in the development process."

His character's storyline relies heavily on his royal lineage in Wakanda. His father T'Chaka rules over their kingdom, and as he prepares to step down from the throne, the leadership position will be passed on to his son T'Challa, who just so happens to be the masked warrior Black Panther.

"It is a role that he is still in the beginning phases of taking on. It's a mantle he is only beginning to take on because his father is older," said Feige.

And even though Black Panther might be new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has a pretty important role to play, since Wakanda is the sole source of the metal Vibranium, the same metal that was used to construct Captain America's trusty shield and Ultron's armoured body.

"Today, pre-Civil War, post-Ultron I think he and his father are saying, 'A bunch of vibranium just got out of here and wreaked a lot of havoc. Maybe we can't stay behind these borders anymore, maybe we have to stick our heads out and make at least an attempt to be a part of the rest of the world right now, while at the same time protecting our people,'" shared Feige. "That's sort of where we meet him in Civil War."

Black Panther will be played by Chadwick Boseman, and the superhero will have superhuman senses and Olympic-level strength, speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes. He is a skilled hunter, tracker, strategist, politician, inventor, and scientist, not to mention a trained acrobat, gymnast, and martial artist with genius level intellect. The Black Panther also wields Vibranium uniform, boots, and equipment.
