The announcement of Bristol Palin's second pregnancy unsurprisingly caused quite a ruckus - both from the family's supporters and detractors - especially since this is another child conceived out of wedlock. While the Palin family attempts to hurdle this new challenge in their lives, Levi Johnston, Bristol's former fiancé and the father of her 6-year-old son, Tripp, reveals that he has his ex's back on this one, according to Us Magazine.

Speaking with TMZ, Johnston shares that he and his wife, Sunny, are going to do everything they can to help Bristol raise her second child. Apart from announcing his desire to lend support and assistance, it appears that Tripp's father had a change of heart as he actually called Bristol "a great mom." Such description came out as quite ironic especially in light of their custody battle over their 6-year-old boy. At the moment, Bristol has not responded to her former flame's statements.

Meanwhile, Bristol is still reeling over the impact of her announcement regarding her second baby. It could be recalled that her first pregnancy made headlines as she was only 17 years old at that time. However, she quickly turned her life around as she actively participated in her mom's bid for vice presidency. She also became an outspoken representative of The Candies Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to educate the youth on the consequences of teen pregnancy and parenthood.

Hence, when Bristol announced that she is carrying a second child without the benefit of marriage to the father of the baby, it came as no surprise that a lot of people accused her of hypocrisy and even criticized her inability to follow the family planning recommendations she has been known to share to the public. As things heat up, Bristol took it upon herself to clarify the situation and address the "nasty" rumors surrounding her pregnancy as well.

In a blog post, titled "My Little Blessing," Bristol shares that the second pregnancy is actually "planned." While she admits that the plans she had for the child and her family eventually fell apart, she vehemently denies that her situation should be used as an example of instances necessitating abortion.

"This pregnancy was actually planned," she reveals. She adds, "Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn't go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on." In addition, Bristol makes one thing exceedingly clear: she does not regret this baby.

"When I realized I was pregnant, I knew I would be completely crucified. But I never even thought of aborting this child, NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE," she writes, referring to the headlines that attempted to use her second pregnancy as another case on why abortion should be advocated.

She adds, "I am pregnant. This is not the ideal situation, but life is important even if it's not in the most absolute ideal circumstance. This is more confirmation on what I've always stood for. I've always been pro-life and I am standing for life now."
