Recent updates on various benchmark sites have confirmed the details about Samsung's upcoming handset, the Galaxy J2.
The arrival of the Galaxy J2 marks the latest addition in Samsung's entry level Galaxy J series.
According to benchmark site GFXBench, the upcoming handset, which has the model number SM-J200F, will come with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. It will be powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and will pack 1GB of RAM, Phone Arena reported.
As for its screen size, the Indian import and export site Zauba previously listed the SM-J200F handset with a display of 4.7 inches.
There are no official details yet regarding the other features of the Galaxy J2 or when it will be formally introduced by the South Korean tech firm. But according to GSM Arena, Samsung might release the device soon in selected countries such as China and India. Other regions such as Europe and the U.S. will probably get the device shortly after its official release.
The Galaxy J2 will be the latest member of Samsung's Galaxy J line of devices. The series was kicked off with the release of the Galaxy J1, which came out in February of this year. It sports a 4.3-inch display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor and the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
Its successors, the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 with the respective model numbers SM-J500F and SM-J700F, were both released last month. The former features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 410 chipset from Qualcomm and is equipped with the Adreno 306 GPU. The Galaxy J5 runs on the stock Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
The Galaxy J7, on the other hand, sports a bigger screen at 5.5-inches. It comes with the Snapdragon 615 processor and packs 1.5GB of RAM. Like the Galaxy J5, the J7 variant also comes with the Android 5.1 Lollipop.
