For the longest time, "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harrington has ranted about his long hair, which he has been forced to maintain in order to play Jon Snow, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

So when his character met his untimely death during the show's season five - stabbed to death by his own "brothers" from the Night's Watch, no less - it meant that Harrington is free to cut his hair. This is exactly what the actor promptly did when the show wrapped up, and fans were devastated because this meant that Snow is done with "Game of Thrones" for good.

Harrington has confirmed repeatedly that his character will no longer be back for season six, and this statement was backed up by showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff.

So why is it that Harrington has been spotted just recently by Entertainment Weekly sporting long locks, given the actor's distaste for it?

He was spotted bearing Snow's trademark long hair while at Wimbledon, therefore adding fuel to the speculation that everything he, Weiss, and Benioff have said about his character is just a ruse, and that Snow indeed will be back for season six.

After all, wasn't it just timely that Melissandre was at Castle Black the same time the men of the Night's Watch decided to betray their Lord Commander? It's possible that she will resurrect Snow, using the powers of her lord of light.

Or, given the Stark family's ability to warg into animals, maybe Snow might have done just that with his direwolf Ghost.

Harrington's co-star, Emilia Clarke, who has just appeared in the hit movie "Terminator: Genisys" is one of the many people who refused to believe that Snow is dead.

In a separate interview, Clarke said that producers have preferred to keep the "Game of Thrones" plot a secret from her because she has a tendency to give away spoilers. But she has a huge hunch that Snow will find his way back into the show.

"I can, with all honesty, say I have no idea what's happening," she said. "If I had to bet, there's a 50/50 chance. There's some helpful people there who could bring him back to life."

Meanwhile, Harrington will be starring in the thriller film "Brimstone" alongside Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce. He will also be appearing in the HBO tennis documentary "7 Days in Hell" with Andy Sanberg.
