It looks like Donald Trump's reign of terror has yet to reach its end as he now attacks Miss Universe winner Paulina Vega due to her reluctance to relinquish her crown despite her clearly negative perception of his person. While the real estate tycoon ranted on social media regarding his disappointment on the beauty queen's alleged hypocrisy, Vega provides her explanation with respect her decision to keep the title.
In an interview with Latina Magazine, shares that in addition to her dedication to the causes supported by the Miss Universe organization, she could not simply up and leave since she is legally bound to fulfill her duties for a year. She elucidates, "By not renouncing my crown has nothing to do with what I do or what I don't do. I have a legally binding contract and legal relationship with the organization and it's not so easy for me, like the artists have done, to renounce and say, "No. I'm not working for you anymore." I have a contract of 1 year. So it's a much more complicated situation, but we have to understand that Trump is a very polemic person."
Earlier this week, Trump went on Twitter to slam the Miss Universe winner regarding her stance on the issues involving him and media platforms pulling out from his company and withdrawing their support for his ventures, according to Us Weekly. He wrote, "Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, criticized me for telling the truth about illegal immigration, but then said she would keep the crown-Hypocrite"

In response to this accusation, Vega shares that she sees nothing duplicitous regarding her decision to keep the title. She says, "The most comical is using the word: hypocrisy. But I think what I'm doing is the least hypocrite thing I can do by using my voice clearly." As the issue seems to be gaining even more popularity especially in light of the upcoming elections, it is a possibility that the businessman will continue to feud not only with Vega but also with other people speaking out against him. With regard this possibility, the beauty pageant winner says she intends to stand by her beliefs and not let anyone affect her. She shares, "I'm going to keep going forward and refuse his comments to affect me. Miss Universe the organization and I are much more than what that man says on Twitter."
In the statement shared to her fans and followers via social media, Vega revealed her sentiments regarding Trump's remarks which were earlier described as "racist" by other media outlets.
I find Mr. Trump's comments unjust and hurtful. As a Colombian and as Miss Universe, I want to show my support and validate the sentiments of the Latin community. The Miss Universe Organization works Independently from STI owners.
For the past 64 years, They Have created partnerships with great charity groups and Have Helped Thousands of Communities. Their legacy of uniting Countries from around the world has-been inspiring to many.
