Ryan Reynolds is eager to shake off his disastrous role as Hal Jordan in the "Green Lantern" film and wow moviegoers with his new role as the anti-hero Deadpool.
The R-rated movie has already drummed up a lot of hype, so much so that fans have been eager to find out if the character would make an appearance in other superhero movies as well, particularly "X-Men" and "Wolverine."
When Screen Rant asked Reynolds about this possibility, he answered: "It would be kind of hard, wouldn't it? Because you have a character - let's say you have a character who knows he's in a comic book movie, that sort of breaks the fourth wall and has a tendency to kind of say people's real names instead of their characters' names. How do you introduce that into another universe that does not do that?"
Reynolds said that he does not know if this would be even plausible, yet he clarified that that does not mean a Deadpool cameo will not happen. And even though the actor would love for his character to appear in other superhero flicks, he said that they have to tread carefully "because you don't want to do a disservice to any of these characters that are beloved by everyone."
For "Green Lantern," Reynolds did not have any actual costume since the Hal Jordan's superhero digs were all computer generated. Things were completely different for "Deadpool" though, since the actor got an actual costume he got to wear on the set.
According to Reynolds, the actual costume beats imaginary ones all the time.
"You can't even compare - I mean, it's brutal doing a film where you're wearing a motion capture suit for the whole time. Just as an actor it's brutal, and that's something I never really got to experience before because there was no Green Lantern suit," he shared. "I didn't even get to see the Green Lantern suit until the first trailer. I never even knew what it looked like. So 'Deadpool' was a pretty great experience. I love having the tactile, real deal, all the time."
Deadpool's alter ego Wade Wilson actually has cancer, so while they were filming the movie, they got in touch with Make a Wish Foundation so children can come on the set and have fun with the cast and crew.
"I loved hosting them. Because when I'd walk out in that suit, you'd watch their minds explode, and that felt amazing. A lot of people relate to Deadpool because he has cancer," he said.
