HTC has launched a new set of mid-range smartphones from its Desire line of devices for the U.S. market.
These include the Desire 520, Desire 525, Desire 626 and Desire 626s, Anand Tech reported.
All four models were launched in Asian countries and other regions this year. Now, the Taiwanese tech firm is preparing to unveil these handsets in the U.S. They will be available for purchase within the coming months through the country's local network carriers such as Virgin Mobile, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Cricket and AT&T.
The devices sport different specs but are all powered by the same quad-core 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 processor from Qualcomm. Also, the Desire smartphones have the same battery capacity at 2000mAh.
In addition, the four handsets come with the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and HTC's own Sense 7 UI.
The first smartphone on the list, the Desire 520, packs a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of native storage.
It features an 8-megapixel camera equipped with LED flash and a 2-megapixel shooter on the front side.
On the other hand, the Desire 526 sports a slightly bigger display at 4.7 inches and is equipped with 1.5GB of RAM. Its camera configurations and built-in storage are similar to those of the Desire 520.
For the Desire 626 and Desire 626s handsets, HTC equipped both models with 5-inch HD displays. Both have a screen resolution of 128-x720 pixels and feature 8-megapixel main cameras.
The Desire 626, however, has a better front camera configuration than the Desire 626s at 5 megapixels. The latter only has 2 megapixels. Also, the Desire 626 has 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage whereas the Desire 626s packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in memory.
All four models come with microSD support that can be used to expand their internal storages up to 2TB.
For their color variants, the Desire 526 will be available in stealth black while the Desire 520 will come in steel gray. The Desire 626 and Desire 626s, on the other hand, will come in more color combinations such as white birch, marine white, gray lava, blue lagoon and marshmallow white.
The devices are expected to go on sale in the near future but HTC has not yet revealed their pricing details. However, as hinted by HTC America president Jason Mackenzie, the smartphones will be marketed as budget-friendly handsets.
"At HTC, we don't think you should have to sacrifice or settle if you are looking for an affordable smartphone," the executive said during the launch according to NDTV. "That is why we are bringing the absolute best affordable smartphones to market with the Desire line-up."
"Our Desire smartphones bring the premium experiences, performance and style of our flagship smartphones at an incredible price," Mackenzie added.
