Apple has just released the beta 4 version of its iOS 9 to registered developers.
The latest version comes with various bug fixes and improvements including the well-missed Home Sharing feature, 9to5Mac reported.
The iOS 9 beta 4 can be downloaded by Apple's registered developers as an OTA file through the Settings app. The sizes of the update's versions for iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices are 300MB and 350MB.
Confirming previous reports, the latest beta version of Apple's newest operating system features the return of the Home Sharing mode for music files.
The featured was removed by Apple for the release of the iOS 8.4 to give way for a new service dubbed as Apple Music. However, earlier this month, Eddy Cue, chief of iTunes, announced through Twitter that the Cupertino-based tech giant was working on including the Home Sharing feature in iOS 9, according to Mac Rumors.
According to the changelog of the iOS 9 beta 4, the feature has now been included in Apple's latest OS.
As for its other features, the beta 4 update comes with support for the 6th generation of iPod Touch devices. Owners of these devices, which came with the A8 chipset, now have the option to upgrade to the iOS 9 beta 4.
Also, early beta versions of the iOS 9 gave iPad owners the Picture in Picture mode. Basically, this feature allowed them to multitask using their devices. For the beta 4, this feature can now be used with the Podcasts app.
In addition, through the latest update, the color of the Notification Setting icon has been changed to red. The icon for the battery was also changed to feature a rounded design instead of its original square-edged appearance.
Apple also included a new option for its Apple Pay service. With the update, users can now disable Apple Pay from being accessed from the device's home screen.
Aside from new features, the iOS 9 beta 4 also comes with bug fixes. In the beta 3 version, developers discovered a glitch that prevents them from using the volume buttons to control the camera app's shutter. This issue has been fixed in the latest beta version and users can now use the device's volume controls to take pictures.
Apple has not yet announced a specific date for the final version of iOS 9's release. However, the company confirmed that it is targeting to unveil the latest version of its operating system in fall of this year.
The company also promised that it will regular release beta versions of the OS until its official release.
