As the month of August draws near, gamers are starting to speculate the lineup of free games that will be offered by Sony's PlayStation Plus next month.
Some are assuming that the August 2015 roster will include a triple-A title and a yet-to-be released game.
The PlayStation Plus' monthly game giveaway is a highly anticipated program among gamers. Each month, members of Sony's subscription service are given the chance to get their hands on four games for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 for free.
Which is why over at the PlayStation Forums, games have already started listing their predictions for next month's offerings.
Some speculated that Sony will debut the triple-A title "Watch Dogs" in August as a PlayStation Plus free game. Bidness speculated that the company might do so as an attempt to imitate what Microsoft with its own subscription service.
Earlier this month, the Redmond-based tech giant's Xbox Live Games with Gold, which also gives out free games to subscribers, released "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" as part of its Xbox One July 2015 lineup.
Given that "Assassin's Creed" games are categorized as high-budget titles, Sony could also include a triple-A or premium title to PlayStation Plus members in the form of "Watch Dogs."
Another game that could be revealed through Sony's program next month is "Galak-Z: The Dimensional." This game has not yet been released but it's scheduled to debut on August 4. Sony could use the PlayStation Plus program to launch the game, similar to what it did last month with the PlayStation 4-exclusive "Rocket League."
As described by developer 17-BIT, "Galak-Z: The Dimensional" is a two-dimensional shooter game. It is set in space and gamers control a starship to blast their way through enemy forces.
The game will arrive for the PlayStation 4 next month. Its PC version, however, does not yet have an official release date. Originally, the development studio was targeting to release the game on the PlayStation Vita as well but decided to cancel it.
As for the other games expected to come out next month through PlayStation Plus, some of these include "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture," "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition," "Resident Evil HD," "Freedom Wars," "Metal Slug 3" and "Grim Fandango Remastered."
Readers, however, should keep in mind that these titles are only predictions based on speculations. It is not yet confirmed if at least one of these will be included in August's roster since Sony has not yet announced the lineup of games for next month's PlayStation Plus giveaway.
