New details regarding the storyline of "Transformers 5' are being teased by film and TV writer Akiva Goldsman and his group of scribes who have been working to develop the best plot for Optimus Prime and his team of autobots.

Goldsman has already dropped hints that the new "Transformers' sequel may look into a beast war plot.

"If one of the writers discovers an affinity for Beast Wars, they can drive forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out by the whole room," head of the Transformers writers' room said in an interview with Deadline.

He also hinted that the highly-anticipated movie will explore the myth behind the transformers by looking through toys, figures and old sketches from Hasbro.

"We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line," Goldman explained. "It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists."

With the aid of these merchandise, it can be expected that the writers will come up with not only one but a wide range of movies that will extend the Transformers universe.

In the last movie, Optimus Prime was seen going into outer space to get together with his Creators and straighten out all issues with them while his group of autobots remains on earth.

There have been speculations that Bumble Bee and all the other protagonist robots are likely to hold the fort on earth and fight off the decepticons for the protection of humans.

Previously, it was also rumored that Ultra Magnus, Red Alert, and Override are set to join the autobots while Cyclonus, Scourge, and Blitzwing will assemble with Galvatron after which the so-called beast war is expected to come about.

"We think there's any number of stories to be told. It's a brand that's been around for 30 years with amazing canon and mythology," Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner stated earlier this year. "We would expect the sequel to the "Transformers' movie to happen in 2017."

Last March, Paramount was first reported to have been developing a team of writers for the movie franchise due to its goals of coming up with "multi-part Transformers sequels" and "potential spin-off films."

"The Walking Dead' creator Robert Kirkman was one of the first writers to join the team along with "Iron Man' screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.

Zak Penn of "The Incredible Hulk' and "Pacific Rim 2' as well as Jeff Pinkner of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2' and "Fringe' have signed on to the writing group as well.

Even Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the scribes who worked on "Punisher: War Zone', are on board to help create content for future "Transformers' sequels.

Michael Bay has already been confirmed to return and direct the upcoming sequel to "Age Of Extinction.'

"Transformers 5' has been set for an official release in 2017.
