Will it or will it not push through? There have been many talks regarding the creation of the rebooted "Ghostbusters" film which would hopefully star both Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum; however, its script is not even ready, confirmed screenwriter Drew Pearce.
Speaking to MTV, Pearce teased that the film will blow fans' minds away, although he refused to divulge any spoilers. "Obviously it's top secret, but there's a gigantic bold idea that I came up with, and the Russo brothers - who did 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and are doing 'Civil War' at the moment - and Ivan Reitman, who did the original movie, are going to take that and run with it," he said. "Obviously I cannot tell you what it is, but hopefully in one year's time you'll know!"
Even though Pratt has said that he is not involved in the "Ghostbusters" reboot in any way, Pearce still hopes that the studio will be able to get him and Tatum to work on it.
"That's definitely the cast we've been thinking about as we approach the project," he confirmed. "Whether that happens or not is very much above my pay grade. It's just my job to give them something exciting that maybe they'll do."
Pearce also revealed that producers are already chatting up a storm on how big they want the franchise to be. Given the amount of hype that has gone into the movie's production, Pearce feels that he has to deliver something big and create a single universe because that's what fans would want.
"Standing here in New York, you just wanna tie it all together. Whether that happens or not we'll see, but I've certainly given them the tools to do that, I hope," he further said.
Later, Pearce decided to be more generous with his information as he tweeted some important details regarding the "Ghostbusters" reboot. The first one trumped the prevailing rumor that the movie will have an all-male ensemble.
"For the record, my GB idea has a mixed gender team. Also ghosts of all classes (I to VII). It's very inclusive that way," he wrote.
His next tweet, on the other hand, has something to do with his script's progress and he urged fans to be a little more patient about it. "Also, I've only written a bible (because I have to go off and direct my own stuff). No script yet. So news cycle: CHILL YOUR BOOTS," he said.
