With the "Game of Thrones' cast members being confirmed to have begun filming in Northern Ireland, Maisie Williams was recently spotted shooting challenging scenes for the upcoming season.
The 18-year-old actress, who plays Arya Stark in the hit HBO series, was photographed as she literally tested the depths of the freezing cold water in Carnlough.
Williams, who has become one of the fantasy drama's main characters since it debuted in 2011, proceeded to shoot one of her scenes with the water up to her neck while the TV program's crew looked on.
Sporting her character's heavy period costume, the teen star managed to keep calm and stay afloat, even flashing a huge smile in between takes.
While filming a scene, Williams seemed to be yelling at something into the distance while twisting her face into a distressed expression.
A large camera had also been spotted hanging around over the water, covered with a plastic bag as it filmed Maisie from different angles.
A scuba diver was close at hand, together with a large number of fans who had come close to the banks of the water to get a look at the actress while she filmed.
Meanwhile, Williams recently shared a photo of herself on Instagram with a pair of healing patches under her eyes, as she complained about wearing contact lenses for her blind character. She captioned the photo with: "aftermath of blind contacts."
Williams' character was last seen in the season five finale, when she appeared to be blinded by Jaqen H'ghar as punishment for breaking the rules of The House of Black and White when she sought her revenge and killed Ser Meryn Trant, after he murdered sword master Syrio in the first season.
Readers of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire' book series on which the hit HBO series is based have already expected Arya to lose her sight. However, the 18-year-old star has ended the different speculations about what showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss will do with her character.
Williams recently opened up about the uncomfortable experience of wearing contacts.
"I don't want to wear these crazy contacts for the rest of my time on Thrones," she told Entertainment Weekly in June.
"I don't know how that will impede [Arya's] life. She's going to become very vulnerable thanks to that. It's exciting and scary so I'm worried about next year," Williams added.
"Game of Thrones' season six is set to premiere in April 2016, although an official date is yet to be announced.
