Sony has just tweeted about a possible major feature of its rumored Xperia Z5 smartphone.
Based on the post, the upcoming flagship device's camera will come with an improved autofocus feature.
In the tweet, the company simply posted an image of a person taking a photo using an Xperia handset. However, the actual model of the handset cannot be determined because the image is blurry.
"Get ready for a smartphone with greater focus," Sony tweeted. "All will become clear on 02.09.2015."
The date refers to the schedule of the IFA event happening in Berlin next month. This means that the mysterious device will be unveiled by Sony in the upcoming event.
As noted by Phone Arena, the company to unveil the5.5-inch Xperia Z5 and its smaller variant, the 4.7-inch Xperia Z5 Compact next month. Based on the size of the handset compared to the hand in the image, it seems the device featured in Sony's tweet is the Xperia Z5 Compact.
As for its "greater focus" feature, GSM Arena speculated that Sony might be referring to the combination of a phase detection system and autofocus. This configuration was already seen in the Xperia M5 so its highly possible that Sony will incorporate the same feature in the Xperia Z5.
However, since the Xperia M5 is not a flagship device, the company might be planning on equipping the Xperia Z5 with a more special feature such as the Sony IMX240 sensor. After all, this technology already debuted on Samsung's latest devices such as the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
As to the other features that user can look forward to see in Sony's upcoming devices, recent leaks suggest that the Xperia Z5 will share the same aesthetic design as its predecessors the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3, according to the Vine Report.
Also, unlike new smartphone models released by other companies, Sony's upcoming flagship handset will not come with a USB Type-C port. In addition, both the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact are expected to pack 32GB of internal storage.
But aside from these two, rumors also indicate that Sony is preparing to unveil a third handset dubbed as the Xperia Z5+. The size of this model's display is still unknown but it will reportedly come with a resolution of 2160x3840 pixels. It could also feature the Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm.
Like the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact, the third model is also expected to be unveiled next month during the IFA.
